Our doctors also have additional training in various areas to assist our patients with specific health care needs, such as Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Sexual Health, Mental Health, Travel Medicine, Skin Checks, Immunisations, Diabetes Management, Asthma Management, Antenatal care, Children’s Health and Preventative Health.

Our doctors have a special interest in medicinal cannabis for pain management, insomnia, anxiety and mood stabilising. All our doctors participate in regular continuing education to keep up to date with the latest medical information and treatments. Dr Lara Tereshchenko

General Practitioner – MBBS

Lara grew up in Byron Bay before completing her medical degree with the University of New England. After graduating she completed internship and residency on the Central Coast, enjoying rotations in the busy mixed paediatric, women’s and adult’s emergency department and intensive care, anaesthetics and general surgery. She worked at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney as a critical care senior resident medical officer before joining general practice and moving back to the Northern Rivers.

Areas of interest: dermatology, skin cancer, women’s health, paediatrics


Dr Clinton Leahy

General Practitioner – BSc MBBS FRACGP FARGP(Anaes), Grad Dip Rural, MPHTM GradCert Clinical Education

Clinton Grew up on the North Coast where he attended high school at Richmond River Lismore. Clinton went on to the University of Queensland where he studied science and medicine. Clinton has been working in Aboriginal/Tropical medicine since 2000. He also subspecialty in Anaesthesiology.

Dr Tahmina Ahmed

MBBS MPH (Master of Public Health)

Tahmina Completed her MBBS degree and Internship from Bangladesh and moved to Australia to live with her family. After that she completed Masters of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Queensland and worked in Medical Research at the University of Queensland in Brisbane for several years. She has passed Australian Medical Council (AMC) examinations and worked as a Senior Resident Medical Officer for four and a half years at various regional/remote and city hospitals in Queensland and Western Australia. She enjoyed rotations in the busy Emergency department, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Medicine, Palliative Care, Cardiology/CCU, Orthopaedics and Colorectal Surgery.

Tahmina is passionate about providing the best health care possible to her patients. She believes listening to her patients is the most important communication skill. She loves working in General Practice for being able to provide the continuity of care.

When not at work Tahmina enjoys meditation, reading, cooking, spending time with her family and loves doing charity work.

Dr Geon Hu Hyun

Completed secondary education in Brisbane.  Achieved an undergraduate degree in science at Australian National University before commencing medical training at the University of Queensland.

Undertook junior doctor training for 3 years at Ipswich Hospital, before moving to NSW North Coast for GP training.

Key interest in Palliative Care (+/- geriatrics) and use of medicinal cannabis.

Non-work interest in documentaries, watching football and Formula 1.
